Wordle About Statistics

This is my Wordle about statistics and it was a new thing I learned in class.

Electricity Explanation

What is electricity
Electricity is power that can help us survive. if we didn’t have electricity there would be no buildings, no cars, no TV, no radio, no houses and no airplanes. Also children use electricity to learn.

How do we use electricity?

Electricity is used to turn on TV’s, laptops, ovens and other stuff that runs on electricity. People use it to charge things and research important information. Also builders use it to build houses, dig up dirt, make cars and to make buildings so thats why its important to have electricity because if we didn’t, life would be harder.

Have you ever wondered how electricity travels?

As strange as it may seem electricity travels really fast. First of all electricity is made from power stations then electricity is brought to the generator and so on. Do you know how electricity gets to the power plugs? Well if you cut the cord you should see little wires made of metal, inside those wires are electricity, that is how electricity travels to the plug.

What Are The Different Sources Of Electricity?

There are many types of electricity like solar energy, hydro power, nuclear energy, wind energy and more. If there were none of these sources we wouldn't be able to use electricity.

Manaiakalani Film Festival 2012 School Is Cool

In Term 2 we were learning a lot about movie magic, and how movies can influence our world. We created many movies. We started by brainstorming key messages we could include in our movies.

We also made a movie that explains how to plant kumara. It was really fun to do. We created this movie to inspire people to learn how to grow their own kumara.

Our movie for The Manaiakalani Film Festival is called 'School Is Cool'. We made it to share all of the cool learning and fun that we have at school.

Our movie was also shown at the Tamaki Primary Academy Awards. We created a PMI about Movie Magic and shared what we liked, what was challenging and interesting.

Guy Fawkes

As the three egg men raced down the road, I saw them holding exotic ego fireworks
Bad Boyz, Moon Striker, Boombox, Show time, Sparkler Box and Cascades combined with roman candles.
I wondered if by the time I got to my house they’d be fireworks. I ran to my house and it was then twelve seconds to six.
10,9,8,7,6,
I zoomed across the hallway to the front yard. 3,2,1. . .

“Dring-Dring- Dring” I wondered what had happened.
“Oh.” It was the alarm for Guy Fawkes Day.
As the moon zoomed across the big wide world, I could see fireworks dancing with the stars There were Bad Boyz everywhere. The Sparkling Sparklers sparkled so high, I could even chuck it into a bucket of water and would still be sparkling.

My neighbor asked me if I could get toilet paper for him.
I arrived at the market and asked a young tall man for toilet.
“Can you get me some toilet paper please?”
“what color would you want it?” he asked (shopkeeper) “I’ll colour it myself” I replied.
I zooed out side and felt the cascades doing the “cha-cha-cha.” I still couldn’t wait because I was so excited to light the fireworks. When The fireworks were lit I heard cascades crackling, dogs barking and babies crying. I smelt ash from nits of fireworks that were all reading lit. I also smelt gunpowder and BBQ’s being used. And fruit pies for a light snack. I got ready to go to sleep and got all tucked up in bed.

MY TOPIC REFLECTION

  • What have you learnt about this topic?
  • What did you like about this topic?
  • What is your role in practicing sustainability for a balanced future - at home, at school, in my community?

This term our topic was about energy I have learned how to plant food and I also learned how to use old fashion Maori tools. I liked working with my friends and learning different things. I think the main thing about this topic was what is the future of or school is going to look like. My roles, rights and responsibilities is recycling at home by putting recycled materials into the recycling bin so we can use it to make other stuff for the community like toys, bottles, machines and paper. At school I can be sustainable by achieving my gaols and doing my homework every week.

Trouble Makers

Troublemakers

In a tropical island called Tonga there lived two brothers named Siale and Sione. They lived on a wonderful beach called Tahi. The brothers were orphans because their mum and dad died from a dangerous tsunami. The two brothers were poor they had nothing to eat and they couldn't afford to buy food. They couldn't buy shoes so they only had to wear shorts. Siale liked to play rugby and as for Sione his favourite sport was soccer.

One roasting, sunny day Saile and Sione were sweaty and they wanted to eat some food so they walked down to the super market. One of the fruit was staring at Sione as he was sweating. Sione decided to kidnap the fruit and run home “Hurry up Siale lets go home!” Sione screamed. Suddenly The owner of the shop appeared out of nowhere and called the security. The two brothers ran as fast as they could to get away from the security but ‘nec minnit’ they bumped into a fat man and fell on the ground. The man they bumped into got angus and started to chase them. Sione found a place to hide so he sprinted as fast as he could while Siale followed. Sione waited for the people to go away and then he would go. “Three, two, one, GO!” shouted Sione. They ran as fast as they could to get away from the security including the fat man. All of a sudden a lady jumped out of a bush but this wasn't just no lady this was the owner of the market she caught them and told them off. Everyone was angry at each other “THOSE KIDS BUMPED INTO ME!” yelled the man. “THOSE TWO ARE THE KIDS WHO STOLE MY FRUIT!” screamed the market owner.

The boys apologized for bumping into the man and for stealing the fruit. The lady that owns the market gave the two boys a drink and some oranges to take home. The man that got bumped by the two boys forgave them and told them he was sorry for chasing them. When they got home they were exhausted but on the bright side they got free food.

The End!

The Adventures Of The Saver

WALT write a narrative story based on our artwork.

In one humongous city there was a superhero called The Saver. He was as handsome as a model and he can fly, sprint as fast as flash and was very strong. He was one of the famous people in America and was very bulky as a wrestler.

One day, everybody in Chilly West that was relaxing heard an exotic noise that sounded like
an alien. This wasn’t any alien, it was was The Mizz. “MO HA HA HA!” as he crushed down all the buildings. “No need to fear The Saver is here” yelled The Saver as he hovered in the air. Everyone screamed “Go The Saver!” The Mizz was frightened when The Saver Came. “Look who showed up” said The Mizz as he sharpened up his horns. The Saver started to fight with The Mizz so they started punching and kicking each other. The Saver had a plan so he sprinted around The Mizz and made a huge tornado. The Mizz shouted “WHATS HAPPENING!” The Saver answered “You’re going down!!” Then the tornado started to go very far away with The Mizz and he could never get out.

The Mayor of Chily West gave The Saver one  shiny, sparkly Gold medal for saving New York City and for defeating The Mizz from destroying everybody in the world.
