Beach Poem

Waves crashing along the shore,

While I hear more, more.

The sunlight, glancing along the sea,

as it vanishes, away with the clouds.

My mouth can just taste the fierce, sharp edges of the water

splashing into the entrance.

I walk further along the beach

the sea sways to the rhythm of my feet

trying to pull me in.

My nose catches the smell -

salt from the rough water.

The crashing anger of the waves,

reaches out to grab me.

The terror of the swaying sea catches the beauty of the sunlight.

Thump!

I stand on a rock,

both lonely, bored, waiting for the ocean to take us in.

I am lonely like the sea.

As it tries to follow me.

Waves splash, crash, and bump above the sand

And then run back out.

Pretty shells,

ugly seaweed.

Yum seafood,

yuck seawater.

rough water,

calm earth.

Squawking birds, fly.

Crushing thunder all thrown by the sky.

Wet sand, dry sand,

dry sand, wet sand.

The water waves goodbye to me.
