What are the Differences Between A Myth And Legend?

Myth:
A myth is a story based on a real event. It has a message to it to teach people a lesson. It is unrealistic most times. Myths were made up a long time ago to give reasons for natural events, like earthquakes, rain, the sun and so on.

Legend:
A legend is based on true events. They were not made up and were about people or something else. The legend might be changed over time.

Similarities:
They could both have a mythical creature in them. Both of them were passed down from our ancestors to our generation. Legends and myths were created to entertain people as well.

The differences and similarities of what myths and legends are. We learnt about this about a week ago and I was just publishing this to show you my knowledge of what the meaning of our topic is.
