SNAG Golf
SNAG GOLF
Today for Kiwi Sports we had SNAG golf which stands for Starting New At Golf. Our instructor was Hough. For our activities we had to roll the tennis ball to the bullseye and if we do we say SNAG. At the beginning I played with my three friends that's right friends, Etai, Lolo and TJ. We were playing on the bottom courts by the way. Anywho, when it was my second turn I two SNAGS in a row. We also did the shakeout thing like what post before. But unfortunately I had to leave early for a gloss test so here is a video to show what we were doing.

My Poem/Tic (ENJOY PLS)
Tic
On the sideline scouting for teammates that are open.
Fourth quarter and there is only seven seconds left on the clock,
I’m stuck in place.
Mad gorillas surrounding me calling for the ball.
Audience is cheering, going seriously crazy
I’ve stopped breathing,
staring into an imaginary distance.
Thinking about last play,
should I cut through the d?
or let my team do the job for me?
I am like an owl at night scavenging around my surroundings.
So much plays to use but only I think of one.
Time to do this.
Passing the ball to my teammate,
Quickly running into the court like a madman,
Cutting through to the back waiting for a pass,
I take a call,
3 seconds now left,
I get the ball and waste the clock a little,
BOOF!
In the air back down into slow motion again many thoughts in my head like,
“Will I miss, will I get it or do I look epic?”
The sight of victory is in my eyes as I release now its time to see the truth.
The ball takes lift off and makes its way towards the rim,
Everyone freezes.
Tic toc tic,
0.4 seconds on the clock, 0.3, 0.2, 0.1.
ERRRRRRRR!
Crank, Plank, Shih.
“MISS!”
Bar Key On The PC
I choose the bar key out of all of the thinkers keys to work on because it is fun and you get to be creative. The game or console that I decided to improve was the pc. I hope you will find my results interesting.

Iron Tamariki Key Imformation
Cypress
Our year 8 teacher Ms Aireen gave us a text to read called "Iron Tamariki". Then after we finished reading the story and summarised the text in our reading groups we then had to write down some key ideas from the text. Here is my key information. One key idea from the text is that Mana just wanted his parents to get along with each other during his training. He wanted for both of his parents to be together and be happy. Instead of him having a growth mindset towards to marathon he put himself down.
Brodie
Iron tamariki, a text the class was given to express the key information (ideas). The main idea me and a buddy have come up with is having a growth mindset. In the text there is a boy who wants to run a marathon, but with his mum and dad training him. With his dads help he was able to finish the marathon. This is explaining that the dad had a growth, how did I find this out? With my inferring capabilities with reading. So In the story a key Idea having a growth mindset not only because the dad helped in his son, also because the son chose to keep going and trying to complete the race.
Me and my friend Brodie worked together on this.
More of our description is on our writing above.

Te Whare Tapa Wha
For some of our work for inquiry we had to focus on the fall walls of a person's mind. We got split up into groups (I was with Mehi, Maopa and Sulaiman) and we had to do a jigsaw activity when each person of your group have to go to different groups to learn more about one wall. Then they return that information back to their home groups.
Here is all of our groups information.

Cypress and Sulaiman - Soccer Timeline
For inquiry this year you probably know that our school are focussing on games (world wide). An what our class had to do to get started into our research were to come up with ways to let our reader have an idea on what the game is, or what has happened in the game. Me and my mate Sulaiman made a timeline to show the history of our game. These are just the main dates and activities that have happened during the time.
Multi Multiplication Methods
These are me and my friend Brandons answers to this (Link) activity sheet. We were just showing off our knowledge of strategies we could use to solve complex multiplication questions.

Also during the holidays I played xbox 360 a lot, I went over to my friends house and I went to the shops as well but other then that, that's about it. Now that I start to think about it that's not really that much that I did. Mostly I was just being a LAZY SLOB and sat around watching TV. Umm so yeah that about sums out this post.

My Locker Label
Hi once again audience.
I'm back with another post and this is about my locker label. Our class as transferred our lockers from outside to inside, so now we have to make new locker labels. This is my one. I put in a basketball because I love basketball obviously. And then I put in a backboard for the basketball to enter but instead I put cheese in the hoop cause why not. There's a HI on the basketball because I like greeting people with respect, a Jordan symbol because I like Jordans and a shot clock count down in red to make it look more attractive. Now on the bottom I have a Yao Ming meme because its funny, some drum sticks cause I like drumming and last but not least my name. Please like this and stay tuned for more posts.

This was a late post I forgot to publish on my blog from about 2 weeks ago. What our class did was going into our buddy class for a day and doing some work with each of our buddies. My buddies name was Taynah and I also had a year 8 buddy as well due to the year one class having only a little bit of students. Here is a presentation of a reflection of a story (Link) we watched on YouTube.

They made it tough for the Warriors to win but the Warriors got the job done and did it. This is there 1st win in over 40 years. They done their fans well. And just before I leave I would like to congratulate Andre Iguodala on wining the MVP award.

What are the Differences Between A Myth And Legend?
Myth:
A myth is a story based on a real event. It has a message to it to teach people a lesson. It is unrealistic most times. Myths were made up a long time ago to give reasons for natural events, like earthquakes, rain, the sun and so on.
Legend:
A legend is based on true events. They were not made up and were about people or something else. The legend might be changed over time.
Similarities:
They could both have a mythical creature in them. Both of them were passed down from our ancestors to our generation. Legends and myths were created to entertain people as well.
The differences and similarities of what myths and legends are. We learnt about this about a week ago and I was just publishing this to show you my knowledge of what the meaning of our topic is.

Houston Rockets Making It To The Conference Finals
Woohoo!
I am so happy right now because when I went onto the NBA homepage site right on my screen was a headline saying "Houston Rockets In Conference Finals" or something like that. The conference finals is the match where each western and eastern side of the USA Have two teams of each side vs each other. Who ever 2 teams wins on both sides will proceed onto the real finals which will prove who is overall winning team of USA. Yes that is as simple as I can explain it. On the western conference finals Houston will vs Golden State and on the eastern conference side, the Atlanta Hawks will vs Cleveland Cavs. Just before I leave "Good Luck Houston!"

Our Trip To The Auckland Museum
Today me and the rest of the Kia Manawanui syndicate went on a trip to visit the museum to find out more about our topic (Myths and Legends.) It was a really fun and cool trip that we went on. We got to even see a real life mummy. We learnt about gods and we learnt about the navigaters of the pacific. It was really fun and I recon that you should go to. Its a great experience.
